State Route 14 follows the Cache la Poudre River — Colorado's only nationally designated Wild and Scenic River — up its canyon west of Fort Collins, then climbs over Cameron Pass at about 10,200 feet into the broad mountain basin of North Park. The Poudre Canyon is a popular whitewater and fishing corridor framed by granite walls, while the high country around Cameron Pass is backed by the jagged Nokhu Crags. North Park beyond is open ranching country rich in moose.
