This designated All-American Road follows A1A along the northeast Florida coast around St. Augustine, the oldest continuously occupied European-founded city in the United States. The route passes the city's Spanish colonial fort, the Castillo de San Marcos, historic lighthouses, and long stretches of dune-backed Atlantic beach. Marsh, maritime forest, and old coastal towns line the way.
