Heritage Crossroads: Miles of History runs 98 miles through Flagler County, following paths first worn by Native American travelers. Later travelers used the same corridor for cattle drives and stagecoach lines. It passes near Bunnell and Flagler Beach and reaches back through centuries of Florida history, from ancient tribal settlements through Spanish missionaries and British colonists to pioneer homesteaders. Its best-known stop is Bulow Plantation Ruins Historic State Park, where moss-draped live oaks now shade the ruins of a sugar mill burned during the Second Seminole War in the 1830s. Museums and heritage parks along the route fill in the rest of the story, from Timucuan mounds to citrus-era farmsteads.
