This byway follows the Ohio River across the hilly southern edge of Indiana, a surprisingly rugged landscape of wooded knobs and river bluffs. It passes the exceptionally well-preserved 19th-century river port of Madison, the utopian community site at New Harmony, and cave country around Marengo. The broad Ohio is a near-constant companion.
