The Cordell Hull Highway is a 51-mile Kentucky state byway running from the entrance of Mammoth Cave National Park to the Tennessee border through Barren and Monroe counties. The route stitches together KY 255, KY 70, and KY 90 into Glasgow, then continues on US 31E, US 68, and KY 63 south to the state line, climbing and dropping repeatedly through the hills and valleys of south-central Kentucky in what locals describe as a roller-coaster drive. Named for the Tennessee-born diplomat and Nobel Peace Prize winner who served as FDR's longest-tenured Secretary of State, the highway passes small farming communities along its length. Near the Tennessee border, the Old Mulkey Meetinghouse State Historic Site, Kentucky's oldest log church, holds the grave of Daniel Boone's sister, a quiet historical stop before crossing into Tennessee. The drive works well as a scenic alternate route between Mammoth Cave and points south.
