This byway leads down the Schoodic Peninsula to the only mainland section of Acadia National Park, a quieter counterpart to the crowded island. A one-way loop road follows the rugged granite shore where Atlantic surf crashes over pink ledges, with views across to the mountains of Mount Desert Island. Working harbors and fishing villages line the approach.
