The Glade Top Trail is Missouri's only National Forest Scenic Byway, a gravel ridgetop route through the Mark Twain National Forest in the southern Ozarks. It runs along narrow ridges past open "glades" — rocky, prairie-like balds — with long views over the surrounding hills. Flowering dogwood in spring and smoke tree and hardwoods in fall make it a seasonal showpiece.
