The Ozark Mountain High Road is a compact, 7.25-mile Missouri State Byway on Highway 465 between Routes 75 and 65, just north of Branson. The windy, hilly two-lane road climbs steeply through Ozark Mountain terrain, rewarding the effort with sweeping views at the top, and a decent paved shoulder lets cyclists and runners share the route with car traffic despite the grade. Turkey and deer are common sights along the drive, giving it a country feel remarkably close to Branson's dense entertainment strip. Because of its short length and proximity to town, it works well as a quick detour for Branson visitors wanting a taste of Ozark Mountain scenery without committing to a longer drive elsewhere in the region. It's one of the shortest state byways in Missouri, distinct from the nearby, considerably longer Ozark Mountain Parkway on Highway 265.
