The Spirit of Kansas City Regional Scenic Byway is an 8-mile Missouri byway of city streets designed to showcase Kansas City's waterfront heritage along the Missouri River. The route can be driven or explored on foot and bike via the connected Riverfront Heritage Trail system, passing historical markers, public art installations, and links to local parks along the way. On its eastern end the byway connects directly to the Cliff Drive Scenic Byway through Kessler Park, while its western end reaches the National Historic Huron Park Cemetery and Kaw Point, where the Kansas and Missouri rivers meet just across the state line in Kansas. Together with Cliff Drive, it forms a short but connected pair of urban scenic routes offering river views inside a major Midwestern city rather than the rural landscapes typical of most scenic byways. It's best suited to a slow exploration on foot or bike rather than a quick drive-through.
