The Apple Way of Londonderry loops about 10 miles through southern New Hampshire orchard country. It runs from the Londonderry Town Offices along Gilcrest, Pillsbury, High Range, Elwood, Adams, and Mammoth roads back to its starting point. The byway takes its name from the orchards that have defined this stretch of the Merrimack Valley since dairy farms began converting to apple production in the early 20th century, driven by rising demand for the McIntosh variety. Along the loop, Sunnycrest Farm still offers pick-your-own apples, strawberries, blueberries, and flowers, while Mack's Orchards is known for its apples, cider, and pumpkins each fall. Old schoolhouses and antique homesteads dot the route between the orchards, giving the short drive a genuine working-farm character rather than a manicured tourist stop, and making autumn — apple and cider season — its natural high point.
