Ohio Lincoln Highway Historic Byway runs 241 miles across northern Ohio, following the final 1928 alignment of the Lincoln Highway. Dedicated in 1913, the Lincoln Highway was America's first coast-to-coast road built for automobiles. The Ohio route enters the state at East Liverpool and threads through Hanoverton, Kensington, Canton, Massillon, Wooster, Mansfield, Bucyrus, Upper Sandusky, Delphos, and Van Wert before crossing into Indiana. Long stretches predate Ohio statehood in terms of the underlying travel corridors, but the drive is really a study in the state's transition from horse-and-wagon travel to the automobile age, with old gas stations, diners, and motor courts still visible in many of the small towns along the way.
