Great and Breakneck Hill Roads run 1.4 miles through Lincoln, Rhode Island, following Route 123 and Great Road between Route 146 and Manchester Print Works Road. Great Road dates to 1683, making it one of the oldest colonial roads in the state, and a stretch of it is preserved as the Great Road Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places. The route crosses the Moshassuck River Valley beneath towering sycamores, climbing past fir-planted hillsides and open farmland. At the corner of Great Road and Breakneck Hill Road, more than 150 acres of preserved open space, including a working horse farm and Chase Farm, keep the corridor's rural character intact against the surrounding suburban growth.
