Paradise Ave and Other Roads form an 8.3-mile network of scenic streets in Middletown, Rhode Island. They're known for historic architecture and notable specimen trees. The area takes its name partly from Paradise Rock and Hanging Rock, outcrops of a fine blue-gray stone that the Peckham family has quarried here since 1844, six generations running. The road network connects to some of Aquidneck Island's best-known natural areas, including Sachuest Beach, Sachuest Point, and the Norman Bird Sanctuary, a private nature preserve with trails through fields, woods, and rocky coastline. It's one of Rhode Island's nine officially designated scenic roadways.
