The Cherohala Skyway climbs from Tellico Plains, Tennessee over the crest of the Unicoi Mountains toward Robbinsville, North Carolina, topping out above 5,000 feet. Its name fuses the Cherokee and Nantahala national forests it crosses, and the high, sweeping curves with mile-high overlooks make it a favorite of motorcyclists. Unlike the nearby Tail of the Dragon, the skyway is open and fast with long-range views.
