The main park road climbs from the Arches visitor center near Moab into a concentration of more than 2,000 natural stone arches — the densest in the world. It passes Balanced Rock, the Windows Section, and the trailhead for Delicate Arch, the freestanding span pictured on Utah's license plates. The red Entrada sandstone glows most intensely at sunrise and sunset.
