Beaver Canyon Scenic Byway is a 17-mile mountain drive on Utah Highway 153, climbing from the town of Beaver into the Tushar Mountains of south-central Utah. The route runs entirely within Fishlake National Forest, gaining elevation steadily as it follows Beaver Creek up the canyon before topping out near Eagle Point Ski Resort. The lower stretch out of Beaver is paved and manageable for any vehicle, making it an easy detour off I-15 rather than a backcountry drive. Along the way the byway passes trailheads and forest campgrounds set among aspen and conifer stands, with Beaver Creek offering fishing access for much of the route. In summer the canyon is popular for mountain biking and hiking; in winter, the same road becomes the access route to Eagle Point's ski terrain. It's a short climb rather than a long-haul scenic byway, but the change from high desert around Beaver to alpine forest at the top happens fast, making it a worthwhile stop for anyone passing through this part of Utah.
