State Route 25 climbs to Fish Lake, one of the largest natural mountain lakes in Utah, set in a high basin on the Fishlake Plateau around 8,800 feet. The surrounding slopes hold vast aspen stands, including part of Pando — a single clonal aspen organism considered one of the heaviest and oldest living things on earth. The lake is a long-standing trout fishery ringed by historic lodges.
