Harpers Corner Road is a 31-mile paved scenic drive in Dinosaur National Monument, though most of it lies in Colorado. Only a roughly 4-mile stretch crosses into Utah, passing the turnoff for Echo Park Road before the road returns across the state line. The drive begins near the monument's Colorado entrance, just east of the town of Dinosaur on US Highway 40, and climbs onto open plateau country before running along canyon rims carved by the Green and Yampa Rivers. From the Utah section, and increasingly as the road nears its end, travelers get views north toward the Uinta Mountains alongside the deep canyon systems below. The road terminates at the Harpers Corner trailhead, where a 2-mile round-trip nature trail leads to an overlook above the confluence of the Green and Yampa Rivers, one of the monument's signature views. Because the isolated overlook sits so close to the Colorado-Utah line, this Utah crossing is a small but genuine part of one of the monument's classic drives.
