The Nebo Loop winds about 37 miles over the eastern shoulder of Mount Nebo — at 11,928 feet the highest peak in the Wasatch Range — between Payson and Nephi. The road climbs to roughly 9,000 feet through aspen and conifer forest, with overlooks toward Utah Valley and the eroded red-rock hoodoos of Devil's Kitchen, a pocket of badlands sometimes called Utah's "Little Bryce." It is one of the state's premier fall-color drives, typically peaking in late September.
