State Route 279 follows the Colorado River downstream from near Moab beneath sheer red sandstone walls. Roadside panels of petroglyphs and dinosaur tracks are marked along the cliff base, and a short hike leads to Corona Arch. The road ends near the potash evaporation ponds, whose dye-tinted blue water is visible from the air.
