The Tour of Tilted Rocks is a 10-mile drive along Cub Creek Road in Dinosaur National Monument, from the Quarry Visitor Center near Jensen to Josie's Cabin. The first eight miles are paved, passing petroglyph and pictograph panels left by earlier Native inhabitants and dramatically tilted, folded rock layers that expose millions of years of geologic history in one continuous road cut. The drive ends at the 1913 homestead cabin of Josie Bassett Morris, a pioneer rancher who lived alone in this remote canyon into her 90s. A short spur leads to the Split Mountain Campground and Boat Launch, where rafters emerge from a whitewater run through Split Mountain Canyon on the Green River. Mule deer, bighorn sheep, pronghorn, and prairie dogs are commonly seen along the way. It's one of the most-driven routes in the monument, doubling as an accessible introduction to both its human history and its exposed geology.
