Midland Trail

US-60, the Midland Trail, crosses West Virginia along a route used since pioneer days, passing through the dramatic New River country. It overlooks Hawks Nest, where the New River runs far below in its gorge, and runs near the New River Gorge Bridge and the wild whitewater of the Gauley and New rivers. Historic towns and mountain scenery line the way.
