Rustic Road 89 is a 4.7-mile route in Dunn County in northwestern Wisconsin, running along 410th and 420th Streets between County P and 370th Avenue just south of Menomonie. The road winds through bluffs above the Red Cedar River and closely parallels the Red Cedar State Trail, a rail-to-trail path built on a former railroad bed that's become a popular corridor for cyclists and hikers. Halfway along the route sits Devil's Punch Bowl, a small canyon with its own miniature waterfall, carved by meltwater from the glacier that retreated from the area roughly 12,000 years ago and now protected as a 2.9-acre state scientific area. The combination of river bluffs, a rail-trail running alongside the road, and an unusual glacial landform packed into under five miles makes this one of the more geologically interesting Rustic Roads in the state. It's an easy add-on for anyone already using the Red Cedar State Trail.
